About Rosendo Mateu Olfactive Expressions
Rosendo Mateu is one of the most respected master perfumers in Spanish perfumery, with a career at Puig that included compositions such as Carolina Herrera 212 and the Antonio Banderas line. After decades behind the scenes, he launched his own niche house — Rosendo Mateu Olfactive Expressions — in 2015 in Barcelona, dedicated to small-batch, author-led perfumery. The story behind Nº 3
Nº 3 is the third in Rosendo Mateu's numbered series and the closest the line gets to a luminous, "lit-from-within" white floral-musk. The brief was a fragrance that smells immediately clean and tender, but reveals a soft, powdery iris-rose heart on closer wear — the kind of scent that rewards being noticed up close rather than projected loudly. The clear glass flacon with a ribbed cap reflects the brand's pared-back, architectural visual identity.
