Astilbe 'Strassenfeder', commonly known as false spirea, is a clump-forming perennial with finely divided, fern-like green foliage that forms a compact, upright mound. In summer, it produces elegant, feathery plumes of soft salmon-pink flowers above the foliage, adding subtle colour and texture to shaded garden areas.
The flowers attract bees and other pollinators, giving the plant ecological value. Its upright habit and long-lasting flower plumes make it ideal for shaded borders, woodland gardens, and along pond edges, where it provides both seasonal interest and structure.
