Iris ensata 'Crystal Halo', commonly known as Japanese iris, is a clump-forming perennial with upright, sword-shaped green leaves forming a neat, architectural mound. In early to mid-summer, it produces large, flat, showy flowers with white centres surrounded by violet-purple margins, creating a striking contrast in borders or near water features.
The flowers attract bees and other pollinators, giving the plant ecological value. Its upright, moisture-loving habit makes it ideal for pond edges, damp borders, and naturalistic plantings where dramatic summer colour and variegated floral patterns are desired.
