Iris laevigata, commonly known as Japanese water iris 'Snowdrift', is a clump-forming perennial with sword-shaped green leaves forming dense, upright foliage. In late spring to early summer, it produces large, flat, pure white flowers with delicate yellow markings, creating an elegant and striking display along pond edges and in shallow water.
This cultivar is valuable for pollinators such as bees and butterflies and enhances wetland planting with architectural interest and bright floral colour. Its upright, clump-forming habit and tolerance of consistently moist or shallowly submerged soil make it ideal for pond margins, bog gardens, and water features.
