By the early 2000s, Lanvin wanted to extend the Arpège heritage to a younger audience without competing with the classical aldehydic original. Karine Dubreuil-Sereni's brief was to create something light, modern and instantly wearable — a "burst" rather than a slow-evolving symphony. The bottle, designed by Lanvin creative director Alber Elbaz, references the iconic black ball flacon of the 1927 original but in a clear glass form with a silver stopper.
