Lysimachia nummularia, commonly known as creeping Jenny, is a low-growing, spreading perennial with trailing stems and small, rounded green leaves that form dense mats. In late spring to summer it produces small, bright yellow, star-shaped flowers along the stems, creating a cheerful and ground-covering display in damp soils and along pond margins.
This species is valuable for pollinators and helps stabilise soil in wet areas, providing ground cover for wildlife. Its trailing habit and tolerance of consistently moist or shallowly submerged soil make it ideal for pond edges, wet borders, and naturalistic water gardens.
