Lysimachia punctata 'Alexander', commonly known as dotted loosestrife, is a vigorous clump-forming perennial with upright, lance-shaped green leaves forming dense, bushy clumps. In mid to late summer, it produces sprays of bright yellow star-shaped flowers with small red markings at the centre, creating a bold and decorative display in borders or naturalistic plantings.
The flowers attract bees and other pollinators, giving the plant ecological value. Its spreading habit and preference for moist, fertile soil make it ideal for damp borders, cottage gardens, or wildflower-style plantings where summer colour and informal structure are desired.
