Myosotis scorpioides, commonly known as water forget-me-not, is a low-growing, mat-forming perennial with trailing stems and small, hairy green leaves forming dense mats. In late spring to summer it produces clusters of small, bright blue flowers with yellow centres, creating a delicate and attractive display along pond margins and in damp soils.
This species is valuable for pollinators such as bees and contributes to wetland biodiversity. Its trailing, mat-forming habit and tolerance of consistently moist or shallowly submerged soil make it ideal for pond edges, wet meadows, and naturalistic water gardens.
